Rangers Recall Mike Mottau and Re-Assign Drew Bannister to Hartford (AHL)

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Mike Mottau from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) and re-assigned defenseman Drew Bannister to Hartford.

Mottau, 22, tallied eight points (one goal, seven assists) along with seven penalty minutes in seven matches with Hartford upon being recalled. The 6-0 200-pounder was tied for the team lead amongst defensemen with eight points. He will wear number 33 with the Rangers.

A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, Mottau was originally drafted by the Rangers in the seventh round, 182nd overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Bannister, 26, skated in three matches with the Rangers this season after being recalled from Hartford on October 17.

Born in Belleville, Ontario, the 6-2 200-pound defenseman was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in the second round, 26th overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
