Rangers Recall Meyer, Reassign Holmqvist to Hartford (AHL)

The Rangers announced today that goaltender Scott Meyer has been recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL). It was also announced that Johan Holmqvist has been reassigned to the Wolf Pack (AHL).

Meyer has appeared in 13 matches with Hartford this season, posting a 4-4-2 mark, along with a 2.14 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. He also appeared in 30 matches with the Charlotte Checkers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), posting a 15-10-5 record and a 2.72 goals against average.

The native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota spent four seasons with St. Cloud State from 1997-98 to 2000-01, posting a career mark of 47-21-5 in 79 matches.

Meyer signed with the Rangers as a free agent on June 26, 2001.
