Rangers Recall Larose, Wiseman from Hartford (AHL)

New York Rangers President, General Manager and Head Coach Glen Sather announced today that forwards Cory Larose (right) and Chad Wiseman have been recalled from Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, forward Jason MacDonald has been reassigned to Hartford.

Larose, 28, has skated in 48 matches with the Wolf Pack this season, registering nine goals and 26 assists for 35 points, along with 42 penalty minutes. His 26 assists and 35 points rank first on the club, while his four power play goals rank second on Hartford. The right winger is looking to make his Rangers/NHL debut.

The native of Campbellton, New Brunswick, was acquired by the Rangers from the Minnesota Wild on February 20, 2003 in exchange for forward Jay Henderson.

Wiseman, 22, has appeared in 44 matches with the Wolf Pack, registering 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points, along with 39 penalty minutes. His 16 goals leads the club, while his 33 points rank second. Wiseman leads Hartford with five power play tallies and is tied for the team lead with six game-winning goals.

The left winger made his Rangers/NHL debut on January 8, 2004 when the Blueshirts visitied the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh and netted his first NHL goal a week later - on January 15 - vs. Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils.

The native of Burlington, Ontario was acquired by the Rangers from the San Jose Sharks on August 12, 2003 in exchange for forward Nils Ekman.
