Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the the club has recalled center Jeff Toms from Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Toms, 27, leads the Wolf Pack in scoring through nine games, collecting six goals and six assists for 12 points, along with four penalty minutes. He also ranks second on the club with 34 shots on goal.
The native of Swift Current, Saskatchewan has appeared in 177 career NHL games with Tampa Bay, Washington, the Islanders and the Rangers, tallying 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points, along with 41 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 200-pound center notched one goal and one assist in 16 games with the Rangers in 2000-01.
Toms was originally New Jersey's 10th choice, 210th overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
