Rangers Recall G Jean-Francois Labbe and D Alexei Vasiliev from Hartford (AHL)

The New York Rangers announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Jean-Francois Labbe and defenseman Alexei Vasiliev from Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL). Goaltender Milan Hnilicka has been reassigned to Hartford (AHL).
Labbe, 27, has compiled a 27-11-7 record, along with a 2.53 goals against average in 47 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) this season. The 5-10, 172-pound native of Sherbrooke, Quebec ranks third on he AHL’s all-time wins list with 155 career victories. Labbe signed with the Rangers as a free agent on July 16, 1998.
Vasiliev, 22, leads all Hartford (AHL) defenseman in scoring this season, notching 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points. In his second AHL season, the 6-1, 192-pound native of Yaroslavl, Russia has recorded 64 points (18 goals, 46 assists) in 147 AHL matches. Vasiliev was selected by the Rangers with their fourth choice, 110th overall, in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
