New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled forward Tony Tuzzolino from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Tuzzolino, 26, tallied 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) along with 82 penalty minutes in 31 games with Hartford this season.
The Buffalo, New York native will be looking to make his NHL debut Sunday afternoon against the New Jersey Devils. He will play right wing and wear number-37 with the Rangers.
Tuzzolino was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the seventh round, 113th overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He then was signed as a free agent by NY Islanders on April 26, 1997, before being traded to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in a multi-player deal on February 6, 1998. The 6'2" 200-pounder was signed a 25-game PTO with Hartford prior to the 2000-01 season.
