Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Rico Fata
(right) has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, defenseman Vladimir Chebaturkin
has been reassigned to Hartford.
Fata, 22, leads the Wolf Pack with five goals and nine points in six games this season. He also leads all Hartford players with 26 shots on goal. He led the club with 35 goals and ranked second on Hartford with 71 points in 61 matches last season. The native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario also appeared in 10 games with New York last season. Fata was claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames on October 3, 2001.
Chebaturkin, 27, was recalled by the Rangers on October 19 and did not skate in any of the club's five matches over the span. He has appeared in four games with Hartford this season, collecting six penalty minutes. The native of Tyumen, Tussia was signed as a free agent on July 18, 2002.
