Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that winger Rico Fata and defenseman Mike Mottau (right) have been recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Fata leads Hartford with 30 goals, is tied for third on the club with 30 assists and ranks second with 60 points in 51 matches on the season. He also ranks first on the Wolf Pack and third in the AHL with a plus-24 rating and is tied for the team lead with eight power play tallies. Fata has also appeared in six games with New York this season.
The native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was originally Calgary's first round choice, sixth overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
Mottau, leads all Wolf Pack defenseman with 43 points (eight goals, 35 assists) and ranks second on the club with a plus-22 rating in 66 games.
The Quincy, Massachusetts native was the Rangers' seventh round choice, 182nd overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
