Rangers reassign five players to Hartford

Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has reassigned five players to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL); goaltender Al Montoya, defenseman Martin Richter and forwards Lee Falardeau, Dwight Helminen and Lauri Korpikoski.

The Rangers now have 31 players remaining in training camp, including three goaltenders, 11 defensemen and 17 forwards.

The Blueshirts return to action tomorrow, Sept. 27, in a pre-season match-up with the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.).

PLAYERS REASSIGNED TO HARTFORD ON 9/26/06
Goaltenders -- Al Montoya.
Defense -- Martin Richter.
Forwards -- Lee Falardeau, Dwight Helminen and Lauri Korpikoski.

PLAYERS STILL IN TRAINING CAMP
Goaltenders -- Henrik Lundqvist, Stephen Valiquette and Kevin Weekes

Defense -- Ivan Baranka, Daniel Girardi, Darius Kasparaitis, Marek Malik, Thomas Pock, Karel Rachunek, Marc Staal, Fedor Tyutin and Aaron Ward.

Forwards -- Blair Betts, Matt Cullen, Nigel Dawes, Brandon Dubinsky, Adam Hall, Ryan Hollweg, Marcel Hossa, Jarkko Immonen, Jaromir Jagr, Greg Moore, Michael Nylander, Colton Orr, Petr Prucha, Brendan Shanahan, Martin Straka and Jason Ward.
