The spotlight is on the WHL as the Kootenay Ice pay a visit to Brandon. Forward Ryan Russell has had a tremendous season for the Ice and has been at his best in the month of February, where he has had a point in every game and has only had one game with less then two points. In seven February games, Russell has five goals and nine assists. If he continues this pace, the Ice may be able to catch the Medicine Hat Tigers for the best record in the league. Another game on Wednesday will see Calgary play back-to-back road games as they face the Prince Albert Raiders. Brodie Dupont has three goals in Calgary's three games against the Raiders and has a plus-4 rating in those games. Another strong performance might be needed for Calgary to get through this difficult stretch.

The Owen Sound Attack, with defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti, travel to Barrie for the second game of a home-and-home series against the Colts. The Colts have the best record in the Eastern Conference of the OHL with 77 points and have allowed the fewest goals of any team in the conference. Despite these impressive numbers, Sanguinetti has been at his best against the Colts. In four games against Barrie, he has scored four goals and added three assists. Sanguinetti is second among OHL defensemen with 22 goals this season, and is regaining his scoring touch with two goals last week. This set of games against the Colts might see Sanguinetti continue his goal scoring ways.Games of Feb. 23Marc Staal
is having another big season for the Sudbury Wolves. He had an impressive seven assists in a two-game stretch last month, and was selected to play in the OHL All-Star Game. Staal will try to continue his good form this season on Friday against Toronto St. Michael's. Staal had two assists in his last game against St. Mike's. Friday will also feature a packed slate of college games. Harvard is tied in the ECAC standings with Colgate, and will host them this Friday. Harvard defenseman Dylan Reese scored a goal in the teams' earlier meeting this season, a 4-1 Harvard victory at Colgate. In the CCHA, Northern Michigan will conclude its regular season with a pair of games against Miami. The teams played a set of games at Miami earlier this season, and Northern Michigan's Darin Olver had two assists in these games.Games of Feb. 24
It's hard enough that the Owen Sound Attack have a pair of games against the best team in the Eastern Conference. On Saturday, they will host the London Knights, the team with the best record in the entire OHL. It will be a tough task for Owen Sound, but they hope to be aided by Sanguinetti once again. In four games this season against London, he has scored three goals and has two assists. Also in the OHL, the Saginaw Spirit will host the Belleville Bulls on Saturday. On Feb. 10, the Spirit crushed the Bulls in Belleville by a score of 7-0 and clinched a playoff spot in the process. Saginaw's Tomas Zaborsky played a big part in that game by scoring two goals. He has been playing some of his best hockey as of late, and the Spirit would like to see it continue right through their playoffs run.Games of Feb. 25
On Sunday, Rangers prospects will play a part in a couple of games in the QMJHL. One of these games will see the Halifax Mooseheads host Prince Edward Island. Halifax has been struggling this season, but seems likely to make the playoffs. Ryan Hillier has been a big reason for the run to postseason, with 29 goals. He has been at his best against P.E.I, with four goals and five assists in the teams' seven games this season. Hillier has been especially sharp against them lately, scoring two goals in their last meeting. David Kveton
has also played well for the Gatineau Olympiques since returning from the Czech Republic with 22 points in just 17 games played. One of his bigger games was against Victoriaville, where he scored a goal and added two assists. Gatineau would like to see a similar result from Kveton when the two teams meet on Sunday. In the OHL, Saginaw will host Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Saginaw's Tom Pyatt has had an out standing year for the Spirit, with 32 goals and 33 assists in 47 games this season. He has played well against Sault Ste. Marie, with two goals and four assists in four games against the Greyhounds. It would not be surprising to see Pyatt add to his impressive numbers on Sunday.
