Prospect Update: Wall Sets School Record

Plus updates on Gettinger, Gropp, Ronning and more

Goaltender Tyler Wall made 22 saves in UMass Lowell's 3-1 win over Boston College Friday night, which secured the No. 5 River Hawks a first-round bye and home ice advantage for the best of three quarterfinal series. 

The win was Wall's 21st victory of the season, which set a new school record for most wins by a rookie goaltender, passing Connor Hellebuyck's 20.

Wall is 21-8-1 with a 2.11 GAA and a .917 SV% with one shutout this season.

Forward Tim Gettinger scored a goal in Sault Ste. Marie's 6-5 win over Sarnia Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League. The goal was Gettinger's 27th of the season, which raised his career-high. The 2016 fifth round pick has 44 points in 52 games this season for the Greyhounds.

Ty Ronning scored a goal in Vancouver's loss to Victoria in the Western Hockey League. The seventh round pick from last year's draft has goals in back-to-back contests for the Giants, and has 23 goals and 23 assists for 46 points through 57 games this year.

Ryan Gropp had an assist in Seattle's loss to Tri-City Friday evening. Gropp has 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points in 55 game, which is four points shy of his career-best.

Gabriel Fontaine had an assist Friday night in Rouyn-Noranda's 5-2 win over Drummondville in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 2016 sixth round selection has 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in 51 games for the Huskies.

Goaltender Adam Huska made 41 saves in a 5-3 win for UConn over New Hampshire in Hockey East Friday. Huska is 7-7-4 with a 2.74 GAA and a .921 SV% with one shutout in his first season with the school.

Lastly, Ryan Graves scored a goal in Hartford's loss to Hershey Friday night. The 2013 pick has six goals and 17 assists for 23 points with the Wolf Pack this season.
