Prospect Update: Ronning, Morrison Face Off in WHL

by Matt Calamia @MattCalamia /

Just one game to cover in today's blog, but it was a good one with prospects Brad Morrison and Ty Ronning facing off out in the Western Hockey League.

It was Morrison's goal and assist that helped to lead his Cougars over Ronning's Giants, 4-3 in overtime.

Morrison, the Rangers' 2015 fourth-round pick, leads the Cougars with 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 26 games this season, ahead of his 62 points in 72-game pace from a year ago.

Despite the loss, Ronning had a goal and an assist of his own for the Giants. The 2016 seventh-round selection is third on the Giants in scoring with 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 25 games.
