Ryan Gropp extended his point streak to 16 games Saturday with a goal and an assist as Seattle topped Portland, 5-3, in the Western Hockey League.
The two points also extended Gropp's multi-point streak to eight games (10 goals, 12 assists). The 2015 second round pick has 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points during the streak. Overall, Gropp has a career-high 40 assists and 25 goals for 65 points, five shy of his career-best.
Ty Ronning had a goal and an assist for Vancouver in a 4-3 shootout win over Red Deer. He also scored in the shootout.
The 2016 seventh round pick has 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points in 56 games this season with the Giants.
Finally, in the WHL, Brad Morrison had two assists for Prince George against Kelowna Saturday. The 2015 fourth rounder has 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points in 58 games with the Cougars this year.
Robin Kovacs, Marek Hrivik and Steven Fogarty scored in Hartford's 6-4 loss to Lehigh Valley Saturday night.Malte Stromwall, Mat Bodie and Adam Chapie each had assists, while Brandon Halverson made 21 saves in the loss.
Goaltender Tyler Wall made 23 saves for his 19th victory of the year for No. 6 UMass Lowell in a 5-2 win over Massachusetts in Hockey East. The 2016 sixth round pick has won his last five decisions dating back to Feb. 3, and is 19-8-1 with a 2.19 GAA and a .914 SV% in 28 games this season for the River Hawks.
Lastly, goaltender Igor Shesterkin finished the Kontinental Hockey League season 27-4-6 for SKA. His 1.64 GAA was fourth in the league while his .937 SV% was third. Shesterkin's eight shutouts were second. SKA finished second in the Western Conference and will face No. 7 Vityaz in the first round of the KHL playoffs.
