Prospect Tim Gettinger and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds advanced to the Ontario Hockey League semifinals on Tuesday with a 9-7 victory over Owen Sound. Sault Ste. Marie will face the Kitchener Rangers in the third round.

The 2016 fifth-round pick had four shots on goal in the 9-7 win, and has two goals and 10 assists through 11 games this postseason.
Fellow prospect Sean Day and the Kingston Frontenacs have also advanced to the semifinals, though on the other side of the bracket. Kingston will battle Hamilton, with the winner facing either Sault Ste. Marie or Kitchener.
Forward Brett Howden's Western Hockey League career ended on Monday when Moose Jaw was beaten by Swift Current in the second-round of the WHL playoffs.
Howden finished the playoffs with seven goals and 15 points in 14 games after posting 24 goals and 75 points in 49 regular season games. Overall, the 2016 first-round pick amassed 109 goals and 158 assists for 267 points in 248 WHL games, all with the Warriors.
