Rangers prospect Gabriel Fontaine picked up a pair of assists Friday night for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in a 4-2 win over Halifax.
The 2016 sixth-round pick now has three goals and two assists for five points in three games with the Huskies. Last season, Fontaine had 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in 63 games before adding another 16 points in 20 playoff games to help lead the Huskies to a QMJHL championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup.
Goaltender Tyler Wall made 11 saves in a 5-2 UMass-Lowell win over St. Lawrence Friday night. The 2016 sixth-rounder is 3-0-1 with a 1.34 GAA and a .949 save percentage with one shutout in his first season with the Riverhawks.
Over in Sweden, Rangers 2015 third-round pick Daniel Bernhardt scored his first goal of the season with VIK Västerås HK, in Sweden's second league.
