Kelowna leads series, 1-0
Ice captain Nigel Dawes collected a pair of assists but Kootenay dropped its opening game of the Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Championship, 4-2, on Friday. The two teams are back in action on Saturday in Kootenay.

Prince Albert (Byers, Kozak) 2, Brandon 4
Brandon leads series, 1-0
Dane Byers tallied a goal and posted 12 penalty minutes and Rick Kozak added four penalty minutes as Prince Albert dropped the first game of its WHL Eastern Conference Championship, 4-2, to the Brandon Wheat Kings. The two teams are back in action in Game 2 on Saturday in Brandon.
