Prospect Update: Shesterkin Picks Up Shutout in Season Debut

Four Nations Update; Champions League Weekend Schedule

Goaltending prospect Igor Shesterkin posted a 27-save shutout in his season debut for SKA of the Kontinental Hockey League on Friday. Shesterkin made 20 saves in the second period and is now 32-4-1 with a 1.60 GAA and a .939 SV% and nine shutouts in his last 40 regular season games.

Rangers prospects Filip Chytil and Calle Sjalin faced off in the U20 Four Nations Tournament, with Chytil and the Czech Republic edging Sjalin and Sweden, 4-2. Chytil finished with a shot on goal and won 55 percent of his draws, while Sjalin had four SOG. 

Chytil and the Czechs take on Russia on Saturday, while Sjalin and Sweden face Finland.

The Champions Hockey League continues for several Rangers prospects on Saturday, starting with Lias Andersson and Frolunda taking on Klagenfurt at 9 am. Dominik Lakatos and Liberc battle Cardiff at 9:30 am, while Patrik Virta, Tarmo Reunanen and TPS take on Bern at 1:45 pm. All games are streamed on the league's official website

On Sunday, Shesterkin and SKA host Vityaz.
