Quick Hits

• Tarmo Reunanenskated in two playoff games with Lukko in Liiga during the past week, and his season ended as Lukko was eliminated in the Quarterfinals. The Rangers' fourth round pick (98th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft registered five points (one goal, four assists), 38 shot attempts, and a plus-one rating in six playoff games this year, and he averaged 22:25 of ice time per game. Reunanen is tied for third in Liiga in assists and shot attempts, and is tied for fifth in points in the playoffs this year, and he is tied for first among defensemen in the league in assists and points. Reunanen also ranks 11th in Liiga in average ice time in the playoffs. He registered 30 points between the regular season and playoffs in 2018-19. Over the last five seasons (since 2014-15), he is one of four Liiga defensemen in their U21 season or younger who have registered 30 regular season and playoff points in a single season (along with Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, and Sami Niku, all of whom are currently playing in the NHL).*Reunanen tallied 25 points (six goals, 19 assists) in 58 games with TPS during the regular season in 2018-19. Reunanen, who turned 21 years old on Mar. 1, 2019, led Liiga defensemen who were in their U21 season or younger in goals and points, and ranked second in assists during the regular season in 2018-19. Over the last 10 seasons (since 2009-10), Reunanen is one of five defensemen in Liiga who recorded at least 25 regular season points in either their U21 season or younger (along with Sami Vatanen, Esa Lindell, Ville Pokka, and Sami Niku). He also ranked 12th in Liiga in average ice time during the regular season (21:14), and he ranked second among players who are in their U21 season or younger in the league in average ice time.
• Jake Elmertallied four points (one goal, three assists) in four games in Lethbridge's first round playoff series during the past week. He has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in six WHL Playoff games this year, and he is tied for second on the Hurricanes in assists thus far in the playoffs. Elmer, who agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with the Rangers on Mar. 15, established WHL career-highs in several categories during the regular season in 2018-19, including goals (39), assists (42), points (81), plus/minus rating (plus-26), shorthanded goals (seven), shots on goal (253), and game-winning goals (eight), and he finished the regular season with a WHL career-high 18-game point streak (19 goals, 16 assists over the span). Elmer led the WHL in shorthanded goals, tied for ninth in game-winning goals, tied for 12th in goals, tied for 13th in points, and ranked 15th in shots on goal this season. In addition, Elmer received three of the Hurricanes' team awards in 2018-19: Three Stars Award, Fan Favorite Award, and Community Relations Award. Lethbridge plays Game 7 of its first round series against Calgary on Apr. 2.
• Yegor Rykov*continues to lead all KHL defensemen 22 years old or younger in assists (three) and points (three) in the 2019 Gagarin Cup Playoffs despite not playing in a game since Mar. 7. Rykov registered three assists/points in six playoff games with HC Sochi this year and averaged 21:36 of ice time per game in the playoffs. He also recorded nine points (three goals, six assists) during the regular season with HC Sochi; Rykov tied for second among KHL defensemen younger than 22 years old in points during the regular season in 2018-19.

Emerging From the Pack

• Sean Daytallied a point in both of Hartford's games during the week (one goal, one assist). The Rangers' third round pick (81st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has recorded four points (one goal, three assists) in his last five games and 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in his last 17 games.
• Tim Gettingerregistered a goal on Mar. 30 vs. Belleville. The Rangers' fifth round pick (141st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has tallied 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in 60 AHL games with Hartford this season, and he leads Wolf Pack rookies in goals in 2018-19.*
• Gabriel Fontainetallied a goal on Mar. 30 vs. Belleville. The Rangers' sixth round pick (171st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has established AHL career-highs in goals (10), assists (14), and points (24) this season.
• Adam Huskamade 31 saves on Mar. 30 vs. Belleville. He has made at least 25 saves in each of his first four AHL appearances.*
• Ryan Gropptallied an assist on Mar. 30 vs. Belleville. He has recorded a point in six of the last eight games (two goals, five assists) and in eight of the last 11 games (five goals, five assists), and he has registered 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) over the last 23 games.
• Ryan Lindgrentallied an assist on Mar. 29 vs. Charlotte. He has recorded 12 assists/points and has registered 92 penalty minutes in 62 AHL games with the Wolf Pack in 2018-19. Lindgren is tied for 10th among AHL defensemen in penalty minutes this season, and he also leads all AHL rookies in penalty minutes.
• Julius Bergmannotched an assist on Mar. 30 vs. Belleville. Bergman, who was acquired by the Rangers on Feb. 25, has registered two assists in seven games since joining the Wolf Pack.
