CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE:

Zdenek Bahensky (Saskatoon Blades / WHL) ... Recorded four assists in Saskatoon's 6-4 win over Brandon on Friday, October 15 ... Is tied for third on the team with four goals and is tied for second on the club with six assists in nine games ... His 10 points rank third on Saskatoon ... Leads the club with two shorthanded goals ... Is playing in his first Western Hockey League season after spending the 2003-04 campaign with Litvinov of the Czech Republic Junior League.


Ivan Baranka (Everett Silvertips / WHL) ... Collected two assists and added two penalty minutes in Everett's 5-3 win over Portland on Friday, October 15 ... Has tallied one goal and two assists for three points in 10 games this season.

"Ivan is poised an in control at all times on the ice. He is a terrific passer with a great shot. He collected two assists tonight and put forth a really good showing." - Rangers Head Coach and VP of Player Development Tom Renney on Baranka's play in Everett's 5-3 win over Portland on October 15.

Dane Byers (Prince Albert Raiders / WHL) ... Has posted two points (one goal, one assist) and 29 penalty minutes in 11 games with Prince Albert this season ... Ranks third on the team with 29 penalty minutes.

"Dane plays a rugged game. It's chip and hunt, dump and chase. He is a consistent, hard-working player. The opposition certainly knows when he's on the ice." - Rangers Head Coach and VP of Player Development Tom Renney on Byers' style of play.


Ryan Callahan (Guelph Storm / OHL - Captain) ... Tallied two goals and was named the 2nd star of the game in Guelph's 5-1 win over Oshawa on Friday, October 15 ... Scored a goal in Guelph's 5-4 OT win over Erie on Sunday, October 17 ... Leads the club with eight goals and is tied for second on the team with 11 points in 11 games ... His 20 penalty minutes rank third on the club ... Is the only Guelph player to have tallied a power play goal and a shorthanded goal on the season thus far.

"Ryan played a good game this afternoon. He's a clever player who knows where to go in the offensive zone. He competed hard every shift and showed no fear of playing in hight traffic areas. He has the ability to go into the corners with bigger players and come out with the puck. Ryan was also very good off the rush today and used his speed to create opportunities out there. Nigel Dawes (Kootenay Ice / WHL - Captain) ... Tallied a goal and two assists and was named the 1st star of the game in Kootenay's 4-3 OT win over Vancouver on Saturday, October 16 ... Scored two goals and was named the 2nd star of the game in Kootenay's 4-3 loss to Kelowna on Sunday, October 17 ... Leads his club with eight goals and 14 points and is tied for first with six assists in 12 games ... Leads Kootenay with four power play goals.


Bruce Graham (Moncton Wildcats / QMJHL) ... Registered one assist and four penalty minutes in Moncton's 3-2 loss to P.E.I. on Friday, October 15 ... Is tied for third on the team with five goals and is tied for fourth with eight points in 11 games ... Is tied for fifth on Moncton with 16 penalty minutes.


Marcus Jonasen (Tri-City Americans / WHL - Captain) ... Tallied a goal in Tri-City's 4-2 win over Prince George on Friday, October 15 ... Registered a power play goal and an assist and was named the 3rd star of the game in a 9-5 loss to Spokane on Saturday, October 16 ... Is tied for first on Tri-City with two goals and is tied for fifth with two assists ... His four points are tied for fourth on the team.


Jonathan Paiement (Lewiston MAINEiacs / QMJHL) ... Tallied one goal and two assists in Lewiston's 5-1 win over Gatineau on Friday, October 15 ... Recorded a goal and a power play assists and was named the 1st star of the game in Lewiston's 5-3 win over Val-d'Or on Sunday, October 17 ... Was named the QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 17 ... Leads all Lewiston defensemen and ranks third on the team with four goals ... Leads the club and is tied for third in the QMJHL with 15 assists ... Ranks first on Lewiston, leads all QMJHL defensemen and is tied for sixth among all QMJHL players with 19 points in 11 games ... Is tied for third on the team with 34 penalty minutes.

Jakub Petruzalek (Ottawa 67s / OHL) ... Registered a goal and two assists and was named the 3rd star of the game in Ottawa's 6-4 win over Sarnia on Friday, October 15 ... Collected three assists and five penalty minutes in Ottawa's 5-1 win over Belleville on Sunday, October 17 ... Ranks second on the team with four goals ... Leads Ottawa with 11 assists and 15 points in 10 games ... Is playing in his first Ontario Hockey League season after spending the 2003-04 campaign with Litvinov of the Czech Republic Junior League.


Roman Psurny (Medicine Hat Tigres / WHL) ... Tallied a power play goal and added four penalty minutes in Medicone Hat's 4-0 win over Kamloops on Saturday, October 16 ... Is tied for fourth on the team with three goals and is tied for third on the club with five assists ... Ranks fourth on Medicine Hat with eight points in nine games.


EUROPEAN LEAGUES:

Sven Helfenstein (ZSC Lions / Switzerland) ... Is tied for third on Zurich with four goals and is tied for fouyrth on the team with four assists ... Ranks third on the team with eight points in 12 games this season.


Kim Hirschovits (HIFK / Finland) ... Collected an assist in HIFK's 5-1 win over JYP on Saturday, October 16 ... Has posted four points (one goal, three assists) and six penalty minutes in 13 games this season.


Jarkko Immonen (JYP / Finland) ... Tallied JYP's lone goal in a 5-1 loss to HIFK on Saturday, October 16 ... Ranks second on the team with four goals and leads the club with eight assists and 12 points in 13 games this season.


Lauri Korpikoski (TPS Turku / Finland) ... Has appeared in 12 games with TPS Turku this season, recording two assists and four penalty minutes ... Is in his first season with the Finnish Senior League after scoring 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points, along with 26 penalty minutes in 36 games with TPS of the Finnish Junior League in 2003-04.

"Lauri has adjusted to senior hockey very well. He takes a regular shift and gets a majority of his ice time in 5-on-5 situations right now, with not much time with special teams play. He shows a strong defensive responsibility and plays the team system very well. He skates hard and works as intensely as anyone on the ice. Lauri can beat opponents with his speed and his quick stick moves. Henrik Lundqvist (Frolunda HC / Sweden) ... Turned aside 28 of 31 shots in a 3-2 OT loss to Timra IK on Sunday, October 17 ... The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for Lundqvist and Frolunda ... Leads the Swedish Elite League in numerous goaltending categories, including: goals against average (1.33), save percentage (.954), shutouts (2) and minutes played (540:38) ... Ranks second among all goaltenders with 12 total goals allowed ... Has guided Frolunda to a 7-2-0 overall record in nine games, tops in the Elitserien standings.


Jan Marek (HC Sparta Praha / Czech Republic) ... Collected two assists in Sparta Praha's 4-2 win over Bili Tygri Liberec on Sunday, October 17 ... Is tied for third on the team with five assists and is tied for seventh on the club with six points in 10 games this season.


NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION:

Joey Crabb (Colorado College / WCHA) ... Recorded an assist in Colorado College's 4-2 win over Union College on Friday, October 15 ... Tallied an empty-net goal in a 4-2 win over Union on Saturday, October 16 ... Has posted two points (one goal, one assist) in two games this season.


Jordan Foote (Michigan Tech / WCHA) ... Registered a power play assist in Michigan Tech's 5-4 loss to Minnesota-Duluth on Friday, October 15 ... Has posted one assist in two games during his freshman season.


Al Montoya (University of Michigan / CCHA - Alternate Captain) ... Turned aside 29 of 29 shots as Maine skated to a 4-4 tie with the University of New Hampshire on Friday, October 15 ... Stopped 23 of 25 shots in Michigan's 5-2 win over St. Lawrence on Saturday, October 16, extending his unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1) ... Has posted a 2-1-1 record, along with a 2.95 goals against average and a .900 save percentage in four games this season ... Turned aside 30 of 32 shots as he earned his first win of the season in a 7-2 victory over Boston University on Saturday, October 9.


Greg Moore (University of Maine / H.E.) ... Tallied the game-winning goal in Maine's 4-3 win over Niagara on Friday, October 15 ... Recorded a shorthanded assist, his first of the season, in Maine's 6-2 win over Niagara on Saturday, October 16 ... Ranks second on the team with three goals and is tied for third with four points in five games this season.


Darin Olver (Northern Michigan University / CCHA) ... Recorded a power play assist in Northern Michigan's 4-2 win over St. Cloud State on Saturday, October 16 ... Has registered one assist in two games this season.

"Darin had a good game. He had two great scoring opportunities - one in the second and one in the third - where the goaltender cam up with a big save on each occasion. He got a lot of ice time and played on both the power play and penalty killing units.
