CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE:

Bahensky Scores in 6-2 Blades Win
Saskatoon forward Zdenek Bahensky tallied a shorthanded goal as the Blades skated to a 6-2 win over Moose Jaw in WHL action on Wednesday.

Bahensky ranks second among WHL rookies and is tied for fourth on Saskatoon with 15 points (seven goals , eight assists) in 16 games this season.

Portland Blanks Prince George, Dubinsky Sidelined With Injury
Portland center was not in the line-up for Wednesday's 4-0 shutout of the Price George Cougars after suffering a badly lacerated finger tip in last Saturday's 4-2 loss in Everett.

Silvertip forward Barry Horman slashed Dubinsky right through his glove with about 1:30 left in the game and received no penalty on the play. Horman was, however, suspended for one game by the WHL office Wednesday after review of the incident on video tape.

Dubinsky, who has scored three goals in his last four games, has posted seven points (four goals, three assists) and 40 penalty minutes in 14 games this season.

FINNISH LEAGUE:

Hirschovits Collects Assist in HIFK Helsinki Rout
Kim Hirschovits collected an assist to help lead HIFK Helsinki to a 7-1 win over Tappara in Finnish League action on Wednesday.

Hirschovits has posted three goals and five assists for eight points in 19 games with HIFK this season.

* Rangers European scout Christer Rockstrom on Hirschovits' play in the 7-1 win ... "Kim was very responsible defensively and creative with the puck. He also did well on the face-offs he took. He collected an assist and has a couple of scoring chances throughout the night. Kim is an alternate captain on the team this season."
