WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE

Spokane 1, Everett (Baranka) 4
Ivan Baranka tallied a goal and an assist to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 4-1 win over the visiting Spokane Chiefs in one of six Western Hockey League contests last night. Baranka, who has four goals and eight assists on the season, was awarded third star honors in the contest.

Torrie Wheat also found the net for Everett while rookie Randy King netted his first career WHL goal in the win. With the victory, Everett improves to 17-8-3-2 and leapfrogs Seattle into first place in the U.S. division.

Prince Albert (Kozak, Byers) 4, Moose Jaw 5
The Prince Albert Raiders dropped their first game in their last four outings last night, but don't blame Rick Kozak and Dane Byers. Each of the Rangers did their part; Kozak with his third goal in as many games with his new club, along with a fight and Byers with a goal and an assist to collect second star honors and extend his point streak to three games as well (2-2-4).

Swift Current 4, Tri-City (Jonasen) 2
Marcus Jonasen charted his second multiple-assist game in his last four outings on Wednesday, but his efforts weren't enough for the Americans, as they fell to Swift Current, 4-2. Jonasen, who has five multiple-point games this season, was named second star of the game. He ranks second on the club with nine goals and third on the team with 17 points.

CZECH REPUBLIC EXTRALEAGUE

Pardubice (Prucha) 2, Vitkovice 4
Petr Prucha was held scoreless in Pardubice's 4-2 loss to Vitkovice on Wednesday.
