Hartford Wolf Pack center Derek Armstrong has been named a 2000 American Hockey League Second Team All-Star. His 81 points (27 goals, 54 assists) ranks third in the AHL, while his 54 assists places him second in the league.

The 6-0, 193-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario notched two assists in the 2000 Kodak AHL All-Star Classic, his first all-star appearance. This is his first selection as a post-season AHL All-Star.

Armstrong was signed by the Rangers as a free agent on July 20, 1998.
