Rangers, GDF show kids FunFuzion

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
On Monday, January 17th, the Rangers and Garden of Dreams Foundation invited children from Children’s Village to enjoy an afternoon at New Roc City’s FunFuzion with Ruslan Fedotenko and Michael Sauer.

The kids had an opportunity to participate in a variety of games with the Rangers players, including laser tag, air hockey, and numerous video games.

Rangers forward Ruslan Fedotenko serves pizza to youngsters from Children's Village during a Garden of Dreams Foundation "Show Kids New York" event held at New Roc City's FunFuzion on Jan. 17.
The event, which was a part of the Garden of Dreams Show Kids NY program, gave the children a chance to get to know the players while taking part in a fun-filled activity away from the Children’s Village campus.

After the kids arrived, Fedotenko and Sauer were introduced and the group split into teams for Laser Tag.  With Fedotenko and Sauer on opposite teams, the competition heated up as Sauer’s Red Team won the first game and Fedotenko’s Green team stepped up to win the second game in a spirited matchup. With two games of laser tag in the books, the group then took a break to relax and enjoy pizza for lunch.

With full stomachs and time to get to know each other, the kids and players were ready to head into the game room for more fun.  As they entered the game room, most of the group gravitated towards the air hockey and basketball games at first before moving on to racing games and other activities including a roller coaster simulator!

At the end of the event with their game cards all used up, the kids made their way back to the party room to gather their belongings to find one last surprise.  Each of the kids were given autographed photo cards signed by the players, a nice reminder of the new friends they made that day at FunFuzion.

Children’s Village provides safety and care to society’s most vulnerable children. All of their programs are designed to give children the stability and nurturing they need to believe in themselves and to gain the skills and attitudes necessary to become productive, caring adults.

Special thanks to FunFuzion for providing such a wonderful experience for the kids.
