In support of the National Hockey League’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, the New York Rangers and the Garden of Dreams Foundation held a Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night on Monday, November 4, 2013.
As a part of the Awareness Night, the Rangers and Garden of Dreams hosted children and families from partner organization NYU Hassenfeld for an unforgettable night at Madison Square Garden.
The children had an opportunity to meet MSG broadcasters before watching the Rangers take on the Anaheim Ducks from a luxury suite. Special opportunities were available to the children throughout the evening including the ceremonial puck drop and serving as honorary Blue Crew members.
In addition, the group enjoyed the thrill of being welcomed on GardenVision during the game -- an experience that they will never forget.
Also as a part of the Awareness Night, Rangers players added Hockey Fights Cancer decals on their helmets, along with pink chin straps. Additionally, to raise awareness for this important cause, Rangers hockey executives, coaching staff and MSG broadcasters wore special Hockey Fights Cancer ties, which were on sale at the Madison Square Garden Team Store with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Hockey Fights Cancer.
