Rangers prospect Jan Marek, selected by the Blueshirts in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, played his second game of the season on Saturday for Magnitogorsk of the Russian Superleague. Marek helped Magnitogorsk secure a 2-2 tie with St. Petersburg at home. Here is a summary of his performance:

The 26-year-old Marek followed up his two-goal effort in the season opener with an assist on the game's first goal, scored by Toronto Maple Leafs' 2006 second-round draft choice Nikolai Kulemin on a power play at 12:13 of the first period. St. Petersburg tied the game in the second and took a 2-1 lead early in the third before Magnitogorsk defenseman Denis Platonov closed out the scoring with only three minutes remaining.
