The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell 1-0 to the Portland Pirates at home on Saturday night. Goaltender Al Montoya, the No. 2 star, made 31 saves for Hartford. Portland's Pierre Parenteau scored the game's lone goal with 1:05 remaining in the first period, and goalie Michael Leighton picked up the shutout. Hugh Jessiman and Lee Falardeau each had four shots on goal for the Pack, who were outshot 32-24. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.


Graham

Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, improved to 2-0 on Saturday night, beating Wheeling 5-3 at home. Rangers prospects Jakub Petruzalek and Bruce Graham came up big in the victory. Graham opened the scoring with his third goal in two games at 3:17 of the first period. Petruzalek, the game's No. 3 star, assisted on Charlotte's second, third and fourth goals -- all scored on power plays - to help the Checkers build up a commanding 4-1 lead. Zeliska, the No. 3 star, scored the game's first goal at 2:59 of the opening period. He also assisted on Matt Robertson's power-play goal at 12:40 of the third period, which gave the Raiders a 3-2 lead over the Broncos before Swift Current rallied for four goals in the final 6:32.

Pyatt scored his league-leading 12th goal of the season at 9:15 of the second period, giving the Spirit a 4-1 lead. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

Hillier had the primary assist on the Mooseheads' first goal, scored by Ryan Seymour at 4:10 of the third period. The goal tied the game at 1-1 and sparked a three-goal rally that enabled Halifax to win on a goal by Jakub Voracek with six seconds remaining. Hillier also took a minor penalty in the game.
