The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, notched their first win of the season on Friday night, beating Bridgeport 2-1 in an overtime shootout on the road. Greg Moore, the game's No. 1 star, scored the Pack's lone regulation-time goal on a power play with three seconds left in the middle period. The goal, assisted by Jarkko Immonen and Dane Byers, gave Hartford a 1-0 lead, but Bridgeport came back to tie it early in the third. Moore then emerged as the hero when he scored the Pack's third shootout goal to clinch the win. Immonen and Dwight Helminen also scored in the shootout. Goaltender Stephen Valiquette, the No. 3 star, made 21 saves for Hartford and stopped three of the four shots he faced in the shootout. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.


Petruzalek

The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, dominated their season-opener on Friday night, crushing visiting Wheeling 10-3. Rangers prospects played a big role in the victory. Jakub Petruzalek, the game's No. 3 star, had four assists on the power play -- with two coming in a 2:21 span of the first period. Fellow prospect Bruce Graham scored two goals, including Charlotte's first of the game, and Zdenek Bahensky scored the game-winner at 18:03 of the opening period. Rick Kozak also had a third-period goal. Goaltender Chris Holt made 20 saves for Charlotte. For more information, visit the Checkers' official site.

Dupont, the No. 1 star, was on top of his game with two goals and one assist. He began his big night by scoring the game's first goal just 1:43 into the first period. He then picked up the second assist on Michael Hengen's power-play goal at 6:48 of the first, which stood up as the eventual game-winner. At 12:39 of the first, Dupont picked up his second goal of the game, scoring on the power play to make it 4-0. He was also called for a double-minor penalty in the first period, only four seconds after his goal.

It was a huge night for Roche, who picked up his first three points of the season in BU's win. He had the first assist on a goal by Pete MacArthur at 8:35 of the third period, tying the game at 2-2 after the Terriers had trailed 2-0 in the first period. Nearly nine minutes later, he had the primary assist on MacArthur's go-ahead goal at 17:16 of the third. Northeastern rallied to tie the game 3-3 with 2:03 remaining, before Roche notched the game-winner with only 56 seconds to play. Roche finished the night with a game-high seven shots on goal and a plus-2 rating.

Staal's third goal of the season proved to be the game-winner at 4:51 of the third period. The goal snapped a 2-2 tie and completed Sudbury's comeback from an early 2-0 deficit. Staal, the game's No. 2 star, finished the evening with a plus-1 rating.

Sanguinetti got back on the scoring track, notching the first Attack goal on a power play at 12:22 of the first period to cut London's lead to 2-1. His tally began a run of five unanswered goals for Owen Sound. Sanguinetti was also called for three minor penalties and finished the night with a plus-2 rating.

Foote had the primary assist on the game-winning goal in overtime - his first point of the season. The winning goal was scored by Lars Helminen just 39 seconds into the extra session. Foote was also called for a minor penalty in the third period.

Flatt had an assist on the night's final goal, scored by Owen Sound's Marcus Carroll into an empty net with 37 seconds remaining. He also took one minor penalty in the game.
