The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon for their third win of the season. Former Rangers defenseman Dale Purinton, the game's No. 2 star, opened the scoring for Hartford with his first goal of the season just 17 seconds in the game. Brandon Dubinsky and Craig Weller assisted on the goal. Greg Moore, the No. 3 star, then delivered the eventual game-winner just two minutes later, when he gave the Pack a 2-0 lead, with assists going to Jakub Petruzalek and Dane Byers. Goaltender Al Montoya, the game's No. 1 star, was outstanding in goal, stopping all 31 shots he faced. He did not get a shutout, however, because the Pack gave up a goal on a delayed penalty call with Montoya out of the net. Hartford is now 3-7-1 on the season.
