On the same night the Rangers toppled Pittsburgh in overtime, the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, had a dramatic overtime victory of their own on Saturday. After losing a 2-0 lead in the third period, the Pack held on for an OT victory over Bridgeport at the Hartford Civic Center. The Pack jumped out to their early lead at 9:31 of the first period when red-hot Ryan Callahan notched his 14th goal of the season off assists from Daniel Girardi and goaltender Stephen Valiquette. Hartford then went up 2-0 at 12:28 of the second period, thanks to Bryce Lampman's first goal of the season at the 12:28 mark. Dwight Helminen and Craig Weller, the game's No. 1 star, picked up assists on the goal by Lampman, who was named the game's No. 3 star. After giving up two third-period goals, including one in the final 20 seconds, the Wolf Pack got the game-winner from Weller at 3:11 of overtime. Valiquette made 21 saves for the victory, and the Pack outshot the Sound Tigers 7-0 in the overtime. Hartford is now 7-11-1 on the season. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.
