Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Nov. 23, 2006

The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators 8-2 on the road in a Thanksgiving Day game on Thursday. Rangers prospects did not have a hand in Charlotte's scoring, but goaltender Chris Holt played the entire game and made 31 saves for the Checkers. The game was tied 2-2 midway through the first period, but Gwinnett took over with six unanswered goals over the game's final 47 minutes Charlotte is now 9-5-0 and tied for second place in the American Conference's South Division. Staal did not score any points and took one minor penalty in the second period as the OHL All-Stars coasted by the Russian team. Four of the five OHL goals were scored on the power play.

Nov. 23: Mystischy 3, Magnitogorsk 0 (at Magnitogorsk)

Marek did not score any points and took two minor penalties in Magnitogorsk's home loss. Former Colorado Avalanche goaltender Vitaly Kolesnik got the shutout for Mystischy.

Dupont did not score any points and took a game misconduct at the end of the third period of the Hitmen's loss on the road.
