The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, defeated South Carolina 4-3 on the road on Friday night. Rangers prospects played a big role in the victory, as No. 1 star Rick Kozak scored twice, Zdenek Bahensky had a goal and an assist, and Jakub Petruzalek had two assists. Bahensky scored the game's first goal, his second of the season, at 3:44 of the first period off a primary assist from Petruzalek. Charlotte's second goal, scored on the power play at 13:46 of the second period, was also off a Petruzalek assist, making it 2-1. Kozak gave the Checkers a 3-1 lead at 2:55 of the second period, with Bruce Graham getting the primary assist. Kozak closed out the scoring with his second goal of the game at 14:23 of the third, this time with Bahensky assisting. Goaltender Chris Holt made 28 saves to earn the victory. Olver, the game's No. 2 star, continued his hot scoring streak with his second straight three-point effort. He opened the scoring for the Wildcats with a power-play goal at 6:52 of the first period. He later had the primary assist on Mike Santorelli's 5-on-3 power-play goal at 5:49 of the second period, making it 3-1. Olver then scored his second goal of the game at 10:28 of the second to make it 5-1.

Dupont's Scoring to Date: 24 games, 14 goals, 15 assists, 59 PIM
Nov. 17: Kootenay 4, Calgary 3 (at Kootenay)

Dupont, the game's No. 2 star, had the second assist on the game's opening goal, scored by Ryan White with 1:38 remaining in the first period. He later had another second assist on Karl Alzner's power-play goal at 17:09 of the second period, giving Calgary a 3-2 lead.

Zaborsky scored his fifth goal of the season at 19:08 of the second period, cutting Plymouth's lead at the time to 4-2. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

Roche had the primary assist on the game's lone goal, scored by Chris Higgins at 3:19 of the third period. He also tied for the team lead with three shots on goal.

Cliche, the game's No. 3 star, picked up an assist on Stefan Chaput's empty-net goal with 32 seconds remaining in the game and finished the night with a plus-2 rating. He also tied for the team lead with four shots on goal and was called for a minor penalty in the second period. Cliche now has 30 points on the season.
