Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Nov. 14, 2006

Three Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the QMJHL, WHL and NCAA on Tuesday. Here is a summary of their performances:

Hillier Ryan Hillier
Position: Left Wing
Team: Halifax Mooseheads
League: QMJHL
Hillier's Scoring to Date: 24 games, 12 goals, 6 assists, 25 PIM
Nov. 14: Victoriaville 7, Halifax 4 (at Victoriaville)

Hillier notched his 12th goal of the season at 2:23 of the third period, cutting Victoriaville's lead at the time to 5-3. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating and was one of only two Mooseheads players with a positive plus-minus number.

RocheKen Roche
Position: Center
Team: Boston University Terriers
League: Hockey East
Roche's Scoring to Date: 8 games, 5 goals, 4 assists, 6 PIM
Nov. 14: Vermont 2, Boston University 1 (at Vermont)

Roche did not score any points and took one minor penalty as the ninth-ranked Terriers fell on the road. Roche led all BU players with four shots on goal.

SauerMichael Sauer
Position: Defense
Team: Portland Winter Hawks
League: WHL
Sauer's Scoring to Date: 19 games, 4 goals, 4 assists, 30 PIM
Nov. 14: Regina 7, Portland 0 (at Regina)

It was a long night for Sauer and his Winter Hawks teammates, as they were blanked on the road. Regina led 2-0 within the game's first five minutes.

FurrerPhilippe Furrer
Position: Defense
Team: SC Bern
League: Swiss Nationalliga A
Furrer's Scoring to Date: 12 games, 3 goals, 1 assist, 33 PIM
Nov. 14: Zug 5, Bern 2 (at Zug)

Furrer did not play because of a knee injury suffered in Bern's Oct. 22 game at Ambri-Piotta. It was the sixth game he has missed due to the injury.
