The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Lowell Devils 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Hartford Civic Center. Brandon Dubinsky got the Pack on the board first, scoring the game's opening goal at 4:08 of the first period off assists from Ryan Callahan and Dane Byers. Lowell came back with a power-play goal just under three minutes later, and then went ahead for good on a goal at 2:58 of the second period. Leading 3-1, the Devils iced the game on an empty-netter with 1:59 remaining in the game. Stephen Valiquette started in goal and stopped eight of 11 shots over 36 minutes. He was replaced by Al Montoya, who stopped all eight shots he faced over the final 24 minutes. The Pack outshot the Devils 35-20, but were stifled by Lowell goaltender Jordan Parise, the game's No. 1 star who made 17 stops in the second period alone. Hartford is now 4-9-1 on the season.
