The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Worcester Sharks 4-1 on Friday night in Worcester, Mass. Defenseman Marvin Degon scored the lone Hartford goal on a power play at 4:25 of the second period, tying the game at 1-1. Degon's goal was assisted by Ivan Baranka and Ryan Callahan. Both teams fired 32 shots on net, and Wolf Pack goaltender Alex Westlund ended the night with 28 saves, compared to 31 for Thomas Greiss, the game's No. 1 star. Hartford is now 36-23-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 31-12-2 over the past 45 games to rank third in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, only one point out of second place with a game in hand over Providence. It was a big night for Koverko, who racked up a career-high three assists in Oshawa's win at home. Koverko had the lone assist on John Tavares' shorthanded goal at 3:51 of the second period, which gave the Generals a 1-0 lead. He followed that up with the second assist on Tavares' goal at 7:32 of the second, making it 2-0. He later had the second assist on Tavares' fourth goal of the game at 6:24. Koverko also took a minor penalty in the first period and finished the night with a plus-3 rating.
