The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Manchester Monarchs 4-1 on Wednesday night in Manchester, N.H. The Pack outshot Manchester by a wide 42-26 margin despite playing without several regulars who have been called up to the Rangers over the past week. Nigel Dawes scored the lone Hartford goal while the Pack were shorthanded at 11:58 of the third period. Dawes' unassisted goal spoiled a shutout bid for Manchester goalie and former Rangers netminder Jason LaBarbera, who finished the night with 41 saves. Goaltender Al Montoya played the first 8:48, allowing two goals before Alex Westlund was brought in to finish the game. Hartford is now 36-22-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 31-11-2 over the past 44 games to rank second in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, 10 points behind Manchester.
