The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms 3-2 in an overtime shootout on Saturday night in Philadelphia. After falling behind 2-0 in the first 11:21 of the opening period, the Pack came back to tie it on two second-period goals by rookie Brandon Dubinsky, the game's No. 1 star. Dubinsky notched his first goal on a power play off assists from Marvin Degon and Nigel Dawes at 8:52 of the second, cutting the lead to 2-1. Just under eight minutes later, Dubinsky scored tied the game with an unassisted goal while Hartford was shorthanded at 16:51. Ryan Callahan, Dubinsky and Hugh Jessiman all scored in the shootout, and Pack goalie Al Montoya stopped the final two Hartford shooters to clinch the victory. Montoya, recently named the AHL's Goaltender of the month, finished the game with 18 saves, as the Pack outshot the Phantoms by a whopping 42-20 margin. Hartford is now 35-21-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 30-10-2 over the past 42 games and stands third in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division with multiple games in hand over second-place Providence. Graham

Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Augusta Lynx 2-1 on Saturday in Augusta, Ga. Rangers prospect Bruce Graham had the primary assist on Charlotte's lone goal, which opened the scoring at 4:43 of the first period. Fellow Rangers prospect Chris Holt made 29 saves in defeat and had 11 saves in the scoreless third period. Charlotte is now 29-21-3 and in fifth place in the American Conference's South Division. It was another tremendous night for the talented Pyatt, who had two goals and two assists. Pyatt started his big night with the lone assist on Jan Mursak's shorthanded goal at 9:32 of the second period, giving the Spirit a 3-1 lead. He followed that up with his first goal at 10:24 of the third, as Saginaw stretched its lead to 5-2, and then set up Mursak with the primary assist on a power play at 13:35 of the third, making it a 6-2 game. Pyatt closed out the scoring with his second goal of the night and 38th of the season on a power play with one minute remaining in the final period. He finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

Olver scored the game's first goal on a power play at 7:21 of the opening period. He followed that up with another goal just 1:29 later to make it a 2-0 game. The Wildcats went on to win in overtime, setting up a decisive third game in the playoff series on Sunday night.

Despite the loss, it was a two-point night for Russell. He had the primary assist on the game's first goal, scored by Michael Busto on a power play at 4:28 of the opening period. He later picked up his 28th goal of the season on a power play at 11:37 of the first, putting the Ice up 2-1.

Ryan scored Maine's final goal on a power play with 1:16 remaining in the third period. His goal cut the Massachusetts lead to 4-3, but the Minutemen added an empty-netter.
