The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, routed the Pensacola Ice Pilots 6-2 at home on Thursday night in the second straight game between the teams. It was a two-point night for Rangers prospect Bruce Graham, who had the second assist on the game's first goal at 5:18 of the opening period and had another second assist on a goal that put Charlotte up 5-1 in the middle period. Graham finished the game with a plus-2 rating. The Checkers outshot Pensacola 30-18. Charlotte swept its two games with Pensacola to improve to 38-25-3 and tie for fourth place in the American Conference's South Division. For more information, visit the Checkers' official site.

Despite Owen Sound's loss, which ended the Attack's season, Sanguinetti had a tremendous night with a hat trick and two assists to earn No. 3 star honors in his final game of 2006-07. He began his offensive onslaught with the second assist on Elgin Reid's power-play goal at 6:52 of the first period, tying the game at 1-1. He followed that up with his first goal of the playoffs on another power play at 19:06 of the first, pulling the Attack into a 2-2 tie. Then, with only 16 seconds remaining in the period, Sanguinetti picked up the primary assist on Scott Tregunna's power-play goal, making it a 3-2 game. After London rattled off the game's next five goals, Sanguinetti added another goal at 9:26 of the third period and later closed out the scoring with his hat-trick goal at 18:35.

It was a dominating, two-point night for Staal, who was named the No. 1 star for the second time in four games. He scored his second goal of the playoffs at 2:55 of the second period to give the Wolves a 2-1 lead and later had the primary assist on Andrew Self's goat at 8:11 of the third, making it 4-2. Staal also took a minor penalty in the first period as the Wolves gained a commanding 3-1 series lead.

Russell, the Kootenay captain, picked up two assists as his team lost a heart-breaker in overtime. He had the primary assist on Paul Kurceba's goal at 14:37 of the opening period, which gave the Ice a 2-0 lead. He later had the primary assist on Michael Busto's power-play goal at 8:00 of the second period, stretching the lead to 3-1.

Zeliska had a pair of assists in defeat for the Raiders. He recorded the second assist on Ryan DePape's power-play goal with 22 seconds left in the second period, cutting Brandon's lead to 5-1. He helped close out the scoring with the second assist on Matt Robertson's goal at 15:46 of the third. Zeliska also took a minor penalty in the first period and was the only Prince Albert player to finish with a plus-minus rating in positive territory at plus-1.
