The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, beat the Providence Bruins 3-2 on Friday night in Providence, R.I., despite playing without several regulars who had been recalled to the Rangers. Jarkko Immonen, the game's No. 1 star, got the Pack on the board with their first goal at 13:19 of the opening period. Immonen's goal, assisted by Bryce Lampman and Lauri Korpikoski, tied the game at 1-1. Defenseman Corey Potter made it a 2-1 game at 12:03 of the second, picking up his first goal of the season off assists from Dane Byers and Lampman. Only 46 seconds after Potter's goal, the Bruins came back to tie it, but Nigel Dawes delivered the game-winner at 4:43 of the third period. Dawes' 17th goal of the season was assisted by Marvin Degon, the No. 2 star, and Immonen. Hartford goaltender Al Montoya made 27 saves, as the Pack outshot Providence 33-29. The Pack are now 39-23-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 34-12-2 over the past 48 games to take sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, only four points behind division-leading Manchester. Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, defeated the Columbia Inferno 6-3 on the road Friday night. Rangers prospect Hannu Pikkarainen had two assists in the game. Pikkarainen had the primary assist on Charlotte's second goal of the game, giving the Checkers a 2-1 lead on a power play at 5:11 of the second period. He later picked up another primary assist on a power-play goal that made it 4-3 at 7:55 of the third. That goal stood up as the game-winner. The Inferno outshot the Checkers 44-31. Charlotte is now 33-23-3 and tied for fifth place in the American Conference's South Division. For more information, visit the Checkers' official site.

It was a three-assist night for Russell, the game's No. 3 star. He had the second assist on Curtis Billsten's goal with two seconds left in the first period, giving the Ice a 1-0 lead. He followed that up with a primary assist on Billsten's second goal of the game on a power play at 5:28 of the second, tying the score at 2-2. Russell closed out his big evening with the primary assist on Andrew Bailey's game-winning goal on a power play at 5:55 of the final period. Russell also took a minor penalty in the first period and a major penalty for fighting in the second. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

It was a two-point night for Zeliska, who earned No. 3 star honors with his first multi-point game since Feb. 9. He had the lone assist on Matt Robertson's power-play goal at 8:03 of the third period, giving the Raiders a 3-0 lead. He followed that up with a second assist on Robertson's power-play goal at 13:11 of the third, making it 4-0. Zeliska also took a minor penalty in the third period.

Zaborsky had the primary assist on Nigel Williams' power-play goal at 6:09 of the third period, which put the Spirit up 3-2.

Roche had the primary assist on his team's final goal, scored by Bryan Ewing at 14:35 of the third period to cut BC's lead to 5-2. He also tied for the team lead with four shots on goal. The Terriers' run for a Hockey East championship ended, but eighth-ranked Boston University (20-9-9) will be getting a bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
