Rangers Daily Prospect Update: March 13, 2007

The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, routed the Gwinnett Gladiators 7-4 at home on Tuesday night, coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the second period and scoring five times in the third. Rangers prospect Zdenek Bahensky helped start a run of five unanswered goals when he picked up the lone assist on Mike Ouellette's tally at 1:12 of the third period. That goal cut Gwinnett's lead to 4-3. Bruce Graham followed up with a second assist on Daymen Rycroft's game-tying goal at 1:55 of the third and then gained another second assist on the eventual game-winner, scored by Nathan Gillies at 12:39. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt finished the night with 31 saves for the win, stopping all 10 shots he faced in the third period. The Checkers outshot the Gladiators 43-35. March 13: Halifax 9, Cape Breton 5 (at Halifax)

Hillier had a goal and an assist for the Moosheads in the third period of their dominating win over Cape Breton. He had the primary assist on Peter-James Corsi's power-play goal at 3:24 of the third period, putting Halifax ahead 7-3. He followed that with his 31st goal of the season at 7:47 of the third, making it an 8-4 game. He also took a minor penalty in the second period.

Dupont's Scoring to Date: 70 games, 37 goals, 33 assists, 121 PIM
March 13: Calgary 7, Red Deer 5 (at Calgary)

Dupont did not score any points or take any penalties as the Hitmen held off the Rebels at home.

Furrer, playing for the first time since his Dec. 29 wrist surgery, did not score any points and took two minor penalties as Bern took the lead in its Swiss semifinal series.
