Rangers Daily Prospect Update -- July 30

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
Rangers draft pick Zdenek Bahensky, a 2004 selection whose NHL rights are still owned by the Blueshirts, scored his second goal in as many preseason games on Thursday in Mlada Boleslav's 4-1 loss at Plzen, which is run by former Rangers star Martin Straka. Bahensky tallied the game's first goal on a power play at 7:49 of the opening period. Bahensky's team is now 1-1 in the preseason. Straka is the Plzen general manager and also plays for the team, but he did not dress for Thursday's game. In another game, Rangers 2007 seventh-round draft pick David Skokan and HC Slovan Bratislava of the Slovak Extraliga beat Zlin of the Czech Extraliga 4-1.
