Two Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the OHL and Europe on Thursday. Here is a summary of their performances:


MarekJan Marek
Position: Forward
Team: Magnitogorsk Metallurg
League: Russian Superleague
Marek's Scoring to Date: 36 games, 17 goals, 22 assists, 46 PIM
Jan. 18: Magnitogorsk 5, St. Petersburg 1 (at Magnitogorsk)

It was another two-point night for Marek. He had the lone assist on Nikolai Kulemin's goal just 38 seconds into the game and then set up Kulemin again for a 2-0 lead at 8:41 of the second period.

Position: Defense
Team: Sudbury Wolves
League: OHL
Staal's Scoring to Date: 32 games, 5 goals, 15 assists, 57 PIM
Jan. 18: Sudbury 4, Brampton 3 (SO) (at Brampton)

Staal did not score any points or take any penalties in the Wolves' shootout victory. Sudbury came back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period and forced overtime on a goal with 28 seconds remaining in regulation.

Flatt did not score any points and fought Sudbury's Geoff Guimond during the second period of his team's overtime loss.

Anisimov was not in the lineup for Yaroslavl's road win.
