The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Providence Bruins 4-2 on Wednesday night in Providence, R.I. After the Bruins scored the game's first goal with 48 seconds left in the opening period, the Pack tied it up a 1-1 when Lauri Korpikoski tallied his seventh goal of the season off assists from David Liffiton and Corey Potter at 1:40 of the third. Providence went up 2-1 just over six minutes later and stretched the lead to 3-1 at 12:17 of the third. Hartford made it a 3-2 game on rookie Brandon Dubinsky's 10th goal of the season, assisted by Francis Lessard and Dale Purinton, at 14:01 of the third. Although they outshot the Bruins 41-24 on the night, the Pack could not beat goaltender Jordan Sigalet down the stretch before Providence sealed its victory with an empty-netter at 19:03. Goaltender Stephen Valiquette stopped 20 shots in defeat. The Wolf Pack are now 27-19-3 on the season and have gone a remarkable 22-8-2 over their past 32 games to take control of second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division.
