Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Feb. 27, 2007

Three Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the WHL and Europe on Tuesday. Here is a summary of their performances:


HunterEric Hunter
Position: Left Wing
Team: Prince George Cougars
League: WHL
Hunter's Scoring to Date: 64 games, 23 goals, 29 assists, 133 PIM
Feb. 27 (Completion of Oct. 28 game): Everett 3, Prince George 2 (SO) (at Prince George)
Feb. 27 (Regular game): Prince George 6, Everett 4 (at Prince George)

Hunter, the Cougars' captain, had a goal and an assist in the first two periods of an Oct. 28 game that he had yet to get credit for due to that game's postponement until Tuesday. The Cougars and Silvertips finally completed that game on Tuesday, and Hunter finally got credit for his points while earning long-delayed No. 1 star honors. He was also stopped in the overtime shootout, as the game ended in a win for Everett. Hunter had two minor penalties in the game and finished with a plus-1 rating. In a full game between the teams played later on Tuesday night, Hunter had the primary assist on Greg Gardner's power-play goal at 12:40 of the first period, tying the game at 1-1.

Anisimov's Scoring to Date: 36 games, 2 goals, 4 assists, 26 PIM
Feb. 27: Togliatti 5, Yaroslavl 0 (at Togliatti)

Anisimov was held off the scoresheet as Yaroslavl was shut out on the road.

ZeliskaLukas Zeliska
Position: Center
Team: Prince Albert Raiders
League: WHL
Zeliska's Scoring to Date: 51 games, 3 goals, 23 assists, 62 PIM
Feb. 27: Swift Current 8, Prince Albert 3 (at Swift Current)

Zeliska did not score any points or take any penalties as the Raiders were routed on the road.

League: Swiss Nationalliga A -- Playoffs
Furrer's Regular-Season Scoring to Date: 16 games, 3 goals, 2 assists, 41 PIM

Feb. 27: Bern 3, Geneva 2 (at Geneva) (Bern leads series 2-0)

Furrer, recovering from wrist surgery performed on Dec. 29, was not in the lineup as Bern won its second straight postseason game.
