The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, routed the Bridgeport Sound tigers 5-1 on Sunday afternoon in Bridgeport, Conn., to run their winning streak to six games. The Pack scored four times in the first period to break open the game. Hugh Jessiman, the No. 3 star, got the scoring parade going off an assist from Lauri Korpikoski at 6:51. Brad Isbister followed Jessiman with the eventual game-winner, his 15th goal of the season, at 17:09 of the opening period. Isbister's goal was assisted by Nigel Dawes and Dwight Helminen. Only nine seconds after Isbister scored, Dane Byers made it a 3-0 game off assists from Ryan Callahan, the No. 2 star, and Ivan Baranka. Then, with 37 seconds left in the period, Dawes, the game's No. 1 star with three points, notched a power play goal to make it 4-0. Callahan and Martin Richter picked up assists on Dawes' 14th goal of the season. Callahan later closed out the scoring on a power play just 24 seconds into the third period. Richter and Dawes assisted on Callahan's team-leading 33rd goal. Netminder Al Montoya made 22 saves for the win. The Pack outshot the Sound Tigers 37-23. Hartford is now 34-20-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 29-9-2 over the past 40 games to move within eight points of first place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. Holt

Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 in overtime on the road on Sunday afternoon. Rangers prospect Bruce Graham notched Charlotte's third goal on a power play at 14:53 of the third period to close out the scoring. The goal was Graham's team-leading 29th of the season. Fellow Rangers prospect Chris Holt picked up the victory in goal and also had the second assist on the game-winner at 8:35 of the second period. Holt had a big afternoon with 34 saves to earn No. 2 star honors. Charlotte is now 29-20-3 and in fifth place in the American Conference's South Division.
