The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, crushed the Lowell Devils 6-1 on Friday night in Lowell, Mass., for their fourth consecutive victory. The Pack scored six unanswered goals, including four in the third period after giving up the game's first score at 6:04 of the opening period and trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes. Jarkko Immonen, the game's No. 1 star, led the way with two goals and one assist, and he got the Hartford scoring parade going with his first goal of the night, a power-play tally assisted by Nigel Dawes and David Liffiton at 9:22 of the second period. Rookie Brandon Dubinsky came up with the eventual game-winner at 18:17 of the second, with Dane Byers and Ivan Baranka picking up the assists. Immonen made it a 3-1 game at 7:44 of the third, scoring at even strength off assists from Lauri Korpikoski, the No. 2 star, and Francis Lessard, who scored three minutes later off assists from Immonen and Korpikoski to put the Pack up 4-1. Dawes picked up Hartford's fifth goal, assisted by Greg Moore at 14:01 of the third, and team goals leader Ryan Callahan closed out the scoring with his 32nd goal of the season at 17:41 of the third. Goaltender Al Montoya continued to shine in the Hartford nets, stopping 20 shots for the win on a night when the Pack outshot Lowell by a whopping 49-21 margin. Hartford is now 32-20-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 27-9-2 over the past 38 games to take over second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 5-4 in overtime on the road on Friday night. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt was outstanding in net with 37 saves, including 14 in the third period and three in overtime, as the Checkers were outshot 41-38. Bruce Graham was the only other Rangers prospect who played in the game for the Checkers. Charlotte is now 28-20-3 and tied for fifth place in the American Conference's South Division. It was another two-goal game for Dupont, who helped Calgary rout their hosts. He opened the scoring at 3:40 of the first period and then picked up the final Hitmen goal at 7:24 of the third period, putting Calgary up 9-2. Dupont finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

Hunter had the lone assist on Dana Tyrell's shorthanded goal at 8:26 of the opening period, putting the Cougars up 1-0. He later closed out the scoring with his 22nd goal of the season into an empty net at 19:03 of the third period. Hunter also took a minor penalty in the second period.

It was a multi-point night for Kveton, who continued to average over a point per game since his return from the Czech Republic. He had the primary assist on Martin Frechette's goal at 8:04 of the second period, giving the Olympiques a 2-1 lead. He later had another primary assist on Frechette's power-play tally at 8:30 of the third, which put Gatineau up 5-2.

Roche scored the game's first goal at 1:41 of the opening period. He also took a minor penalty in that period and finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

Staal had the second assist on Justin Donati's power-play goal with 4:04 remaining in the first period. That goal, which gave Sudbury a 2-0 lead, stood up as the game-winner. Staal finished the night with a plus-3 rating, tying for the team lead.

Sauer had the second assist on Jakub Rumpel's power-play goal at 18:24 of the third period. That goal cut the lead to 3-2, but the Tigers could get no closer in a game they had trailed 2-0 early in the third. Sauer also took a minor penalty in the third period.
