The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, shut out the Worcester Sharks 3-0 on Friday night at the Hartford Civi Center behind 15 saves by goaltender Al Montoya. The Pack scored a goal in each period, beginning with Brad Isbister's power-play tally at 13:27 of the first period. That goal, assisted by defensemen Marvin Degon and Ivan Baranka, stood up as the game-winner and earned No. 1 star honors for Isbister. Hartford took a 2-0 lead at 6:35 of the second period when Dwight Helminen scored his 11th goal of the season off assists from Zdenek Bahensky and Greg Moore. Rookie Lauri Korpikoski, the No. 2 star, closed out the scoring with his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Dane Byers, at 3:42 of the third period. It was a fairly easy night of work for Montoya, the No. 3 star, as the Pack outshot the Sharks by a whopping 35-15 margin. Hartford is now 29-20-3 on the season and has gone a remarkable 24-9-2 over the past 35 games to move within three points of second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division with two games in hand over the Providence team that leads them. Graham then scored again at 16:33 of the first period to make it 2-1, and Lee Falardeau gave Charlotte a 3-1 lead at 12:56 of the second. South Carolina tied the game with two goals in the final 15 minutes, setting the stage for Graham's winner, which was assisted by Jessiman.
