Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Feb. 15, 2007

Two Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the QMJHL and OHL on Thursday. Here is a summary of their performances:


Hillier Ryan Hillier
Position: Left Wing
Team: Halifax Mooseheads
League: QMJHL
Hillier's Scoring to Date: 59 games, 29 goals, 22 assists, 79 PIM
Feb. 15: Lewison 4, Halifax 3 (SO) (at Lewiston)

Hillier continued his high-scoring pace, netting his 29th goal of the season at 12:54 of the first period to give the Mooseheads a 2-1 lead. He was also Halifax's first shooter in the OT shootout, but was stopped by Lewiston goalie Peter Delmas.

Ryan Billy Ryan
Position: Center
Team: University of Maine Black Bears
League: Hockey East
Ryan's Scoring to Date: 30 games, 7 goals, 16 assists, 16 PIM
Feb. 15: Boston College 5, Maine 2 (at Boston College)

Ryan had the primary assist on Keenan Hopson's goal at 7:30 of the second period, cutting BC's lead to 3-2. He also took a minor penalty in the third period.

KoverkoTrevor Koverko
Position: Defense
Team: Oshawa Generals
League: OHL
Koverko's Scoring to Date: 53 games, 0 goals, 15 assists, 134 PIM
Feb. 15: Guelph 6, Oshawa 5 (OT) (at Oshawa)

Koverko did not score any points and took two minor penalties in the Generals' overtime loss. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.
