Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Dec. 6, 2006

Ten Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the QMJHL, OHL, WHL, NCAA and Europe on Wednesday. Here is a summary of their performances:

MarekJan Marek
Position: Forward

Marek's Scoring to Date: 27 games, 16 goals, 15 assists, 38 PIM
Dec. 6: Magnitogorsk 3, Togliatti 1 (at Togliatti)

Marek got right back to scoring with two points in his first game back from a minor injury that had sidelined him for two games. He picked up the primary assist on Jaroslav Kudrna's power-play goal at 1:17 of the third period, which pulled Magnitogorsk into a 1-1 tie. He tlater scored the game's final goal with 4:43 remaining in the third period.

Sanguinetti's Scoring to Date: 30 games, 15 goals, 13 assists, 28 PIM
Dec. 6: Owen Sound 8, Erie 4 (at Erie)

Sanguinetti scored his 15th goal of the season on a power-play at 2:53 of the second period, giving the Attack a 3-0 lead. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

ZeliskaLukas Zeliska

Zeliska's Scoring to Date: 29 games, 3 goals, 18 assists, 41 PIM
Dec. 6: Swift Current 5, Prince Albert 2 (at Prince Albert)

Zeliska had the primary assist on Matt Robertson's goal at 1:27 of the third period, which pulled the Raiders into a 2-2 tie. The Broncos scored twice over the five minutes after Robertson's goal to put the game out of reach. Zeliska finished the game with a plus-1 rating and ran his points streak to seven games.

Dec. 6: Kootenay 6, Chilliwack 4 (at Chilliwack)

Russell had the primary assist on Paul Kurceba's power-play goal at 5:07 of the second period, giving the Ice a 3-1 lead. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

Position: Left Wing
Team: Prince George Cougars
League: WHL
Hunter's Scoring to Date: 31 games, 12 goals, 15 assists, 87 PIM
Dec. 6: Lethbridge 5, Prince George 3 (at Lethbridge)

Hunter had the primary assist on Dana Tyrell's goal at 16:31 of the first period. That goal gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead, but Lethbridge stormed back with five unanswered scores over the game's final 42 minutes to win it.

Sauer had the primary assist on Portland's first goal of the game, scored by Nicholas Hotson on a power play at 3:44 of the third period. The goal came after Kelowna had built up a 6-0 lead through 40 minutes.

In his first game with Mlada Boleslav, Dornic had the primary assist on Tomas Sykora's goal at 12:00 of the first period, giving his team a 2-1 lead. He also took a minor penalty in the first period and finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

Cliche Marc-Andre Cliche
