Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Dec. 5, 2006

The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Pensacola Ice Pilots 2-1 on Tuesday night in Pensacola. Rangers prospect Zdenek Bahensky picked up the primary assist on Charlotte's lone goal, scored by Mark Lee on a power play at 2:55 of the third period. Lee's goal tied the game at 1-1, but Pensacola's Colin Hemingway went on to score the game-winner on an Ice Pilots power play just over seven minutes later. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt made 17 saves in net for Charlotte. The Checkers are now 11-8-0 and in fourth place in the American Conference's South Division. Kveton scored his first goal of the Czech Extraliga season at 17:09 of the second period, cutting Liberec's lead to 3-2. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

HunterEric Hunter

Dec. 5: Medicine Hat 3, Prince George 2 (OT) (at Medicine Hat)

Hunter, the Cougars' captain, did not score any points and took one minor penalty in the third period of Prince George's overtime loss at Medicine Hat.

Dec. 5: Everett 2, Kootenay 0 (at Everett)

Russell did not score any points or take any penalties as the Ice were shut out on the road.
