The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, shut out the Portland Pirates 2-0 on Sunday in Portland, Me., to reach the .500 mark on the season. Goaltender Al Montoya, the No. 1 star, picked up his second shutout in the past three games with a brilliant 28-save performance. No. 2 star Brad Isbister scored the eventual game-winner for Hartford off an assist from Nigel Dawes at 7:34 of the second period. Rookie scoring sensation Ryan Callahan added his 21st goal of the season on a shorthanded situation at 12:57 of the third. The Pack outshot the Pirates 38-28, but the game was a true goaltending duel between Hartford's Montoya and Portland's Dov Grumet-Morris, the No. 3 star. Rangers forward Jed Ortmeyer had a shot on goal and took one minor penalty in the final game of his conditioning stint with the Wolf Pack. Hartford is now 16-16-2 on the season and only three points out of fourth place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.
